What is Mangal Dosha?

Mangal Dosha (often called Manglik dosha) is a Vedic marriage compatibility concept centred on Mars: when Mars occupies certain houses from the lagna, Moon, or sometimes Venus, it is said to add heat, independence, or friction to partnership themes. Tradition also lists cancellations—Jupiter in a kendra, Mars in own or exaltation sign, and other combinations—that can reduce or nullify the severity.
