A guide for self doubt, rooted in the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads and Advaita Vedanta. It does not predict the fruit of your action. It helps you see the karma that is yours, the way Krishna guided Arjuna.

When life feels like an Arjuna moment,
Ask Vedanta.

Takes less than a minute to begin. Then share what is on your heart.

A battlefield does not always look like one

Arjuna was not unwise. He was frozen. He could see the cost of acting and the cost of not acting, and both looked unbearable. He put down his bow.

Krishna did not begin by telling him who would win the war. He told him who he was, what his duty was, and how to act without being owned by the result.

You may not be on a battlefield. You may be holding a resignation letter, a relationship that has gone quiet, a family duty you keep postponing, or a truth you have not said out loud. The freeze is the same.

What an answer looks like

An example, not a real conversation.

“I want to leave my job but I am scared I will fail.”

There is nothing weak about this fear. You are not afraid of work. You are afraid of what a wrong step would say about you.You are afraid of what a wrong step would say about you, and of how much would have to be rebuilt if it did not go well.

The fear is attached to a result you want guaranteed before you will move. That is phala asakti, clinging to the fruit.Notice what the fear is attached to. It is not attached to the work itself. It is attached to a result you want guaranteed before you are willing to move. That is phala asakti, clinging to the fruit.

The Gita puts this with unusual clarity:

कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।
मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥

Bhagavad Gita 2.47

You have a right to your action, never to its fruits. Do not let the fruit become your reason for acting, and do not let it become your reason for standing still.

Krishna does not tell Arjuna the war will be won. He tells him that refusing to act is also a choice, and a worse one, when the action is genuinely his to take. The question is not whether the new path succeeds. It is whether staying is honest work or fear wearing the face of loyalty.

Your work is to choose the honest next action. The result was never yours to hold.

If the outcome could not be known either way, what would still be the right thing for you to do?

It does not predict from your chart. It helps you see the action that is yours.

  • Horoscope reads your chart to tell you what may happen
  • Prashna Kundli reads the moment of the question to time an outcome
  • Palmistry reads the lines of your palm
  • Numerology reads your name and date of birth
  • Vastu reads the energy of your space
  • Ask Vedanta tells you what you should do, not what will happen

Horoscope reads the sky. Ask Vedanta stays with the doubt until the next honest step is clear.

It asks a different question

What it asks

What it does not ask

What is my dharma here?

Will this succeed?

What action is actually mine to take?

When will the result come?

What outcome am I clinging to?

What does my chart promise?

What am I afraid will happen if I act?

Is this past life karma?

Is this clarity, or fear talking?

Which remedy will fix it?

What is truly good, or what feels good now?

How do I get the result faster?

If you want the phal, the fruit, the timing, the prediction, the horoscope chat is the right place. If you want the karma, the action that is yours right now, stay here.

Three pillars

कर्म

Karma

The action that is yours to take, now.

धर्म

Dharma raksha

Protecting the right action, even when the easy one is available.

फलत्याग

Phal tyaga

Doing the work fully, without letting the result become your master.

The patterns underneath the question

  • राग

    Raga, attachment

“I can only be alright if this stays.”

  • द्वेष

    Dvesha, aversion

“I will do anything to avoid that conversation.”

  • भय

    Bhaya, fear

“Tell me it will work out and then I will move.”

  • अहंकार

    Ahamkara, ego

“If this fails, I am nothing.”

  • धर्ममोह

    Dharma moha, confusion of duty

“Both of these are my responsibility.”

  • फलासक्ति

    Phala asakti, clinging to fruit

“I will act once the result is certain.”

When one of these is doing the talking, the guide will point to it gently, and without telling you that you are wrong.

Shreya and preya

श्रेय

Shreya is what is ultimately good for you, even when it is hard today.

प्रेय

Preya is what is pleasant right now, and quietly costs you later.

Most difficult decisions are not a fight between right and wrong. They are a fight between these two. Telling them apart is most of the work.

The sources

  • Bhagavad Gita

Karma yoga, dharma, and acting without being owned by the result.

  • The Upanishads

On the Self, and on what is truly beneficial rather than merely pleasant.

  • Advaita Vedanta

The teachings associated with Adi Shankaracharya, on separating who you are from the roles you play.

  • Vedas and subhashitas

    Classical verses of practical wisdom.

Every verse is a real one, quoted with its book and reference. Nothing is invented.

What this is not

  • It will not tell you when marriage, money or a job will arrive.
  • It will not read your kundli, your dasha or your transits.
  • It will not sell you a gemstone, a mantra or a remedy.
  • It will not tell you that your suffering is a punishment from a past life.
  • It will not bless doing nothing and call it detachment.
  • It will not decide for you.
  • It will not replace a doctor, a lawyer, or your own common sense.

What it will do is stay with you until you can see the action that is yours.

Start with one of these

Or say it in your own words. There is no wrong way to begin.

Questions

Do I need my birth details?+

Yes. The same short birth setup as our other chats. Date, time and place of birth take less than a minute. Ask Vedanta still will not use them to predict. It does not read your dasha or transits. It works from the conflict you bring, after you have begun.

Will it tell me what is going to happen?+

No, and it will say so if you ask. It does not predict marriage, money, jobs or outcomes of any kind. Its subject is the action in front of you. What is genuinely yours to do, what you are attached to, and what you are afraid of. For timing and prediction, the horoscope chat is the right place.

Does it quote real Sanskrit verses?+

Yes. Each reply includes an authentic verse matched to what you have said, with the book and reference, followed by its meaning in plain language. Nothing is invented, and no verse is used just to sound profound.

Is Ask Vedanta free?+

Yes, it is free and unlimited to use. After a short birth setup, open the chat and describe what is on your mind.

Is this a replacement for a therapist or a guru?+

No. It is a conversational guide grounded in the Gita and Advaita Vedanta, useful when a decision has you stuck. For medical or mental health concerns, legal questions, or anything urgent, please speak to a qualified professional.

Can I talk about love, career and family here?+

Yes, and most people do. Those are exactly where duty gets complicated. The difference is the question you bring. Not "will I get it?", but "what is mine to do about it?"

What kind of questions does it not answer well?+

Anything about timing, luck or prediction. When marriage will happen, whether a dasha is good, which gemstone to wear, or whether someone will come back. Those belong to the horoscope and Prashna chats. Ask Vedanta is for the decision you are facing right now.
